Ethel Fletcher Hinson
Funeral services for Ethel Fletcher Hinson, 102, of DeRidder, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder. The Rev. Bruce Ward will officiate. Burial will follow at Lewis Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Hinson died Monday, Feb. 6, in Rosepine.
She was born in 1909 in DeRidder. She was a lifelong resident of Beauregard Parish and was a member of the Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Rosepine. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club in the Ikes community and was involved in the Beauregard Parish Fair for many years.

DERIDDER -- A "Forgive to Live" seminar entitled "Ten Principles of Forgiveness" will be held at the DeRidder Seventh-Day Adventist Church Auditorium at 3040 Hwy. 171 in DeRidder at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18; at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25; and at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 3. COTTONWOOD -- Terry Terrell will be at the special singer at the Lillie Pentecostal Church in the Cottonwood community in Vernon Parish at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19. A love offering will be taken. The church is located at 701 Cottonwood Road.
Writer's retreat
DRY CREEK -- There will be writer's retreat at Dry Creek Baptist Camp on March 1-3. It's for writers of all levels and ages who wish to communicate with a Christian world view.
